Since 2002 Wilkore had been involved with Biota, helping with plans to consolidate all of their offices and laboratories under one roof. Architects S2F deduced their space requirements and designed several layouts. Through a separate client, Wilkore introduced Biota to premises on Blackburn Rd, just up from Monash University, at the time tenanted by Gribbles Pathology. Wilkore was able to take the S2F layouts and, on a tight site with some demolition was able to build a facility that housed all of their office and research needs with significant room for future expansion, and fully lockable basement carpark. This Laboratory features full reticulated services, PC2 containment, variable speed fumehoods linked to the HVAC system and chemically resistant benchtops and casework. Significantly we also designed and built a fully compliant PC3 laboratory at the rear of their premises.
